Energy & Power Leads Global B2B Sourcing Demand on B2BMAP in Q2 2026
Energy & Power, Machinery & Industrial Supplies, and Agro & Agriculture made up 45% of all buy requirements posted between April and June.
United States, 8th Jul 2026 – B2BMAP, a global B2B marketplace that connects buyers and suppliers, published sourcing figures from its marketplace for the second quarter of 2026.
Buyers posted 1,300 buy requirements on B2BMAP. 630 of them were verified and published on B2BMAP between April 1 and June 30, 2026, up 11% from the previous quarter. Energy & Power was the largest single category. Together with Machinery & Industrial Supplies and Agro & Agriculture, the top three sectors accounted for 45% of all requests.

B2BMAP – Q2 2026 at a Glance
Buyers submitted 1,300 buy requirements during the quarter, and 630 of them were verified, giving suppliers a screened pool of genuine business opportunities. Total submissions rose 11% over the first quarter of the year.
Energy & Power led all categories with roughly 18% of requests. Demand covered both fuels and hardware, from petroleum products to generation and transmission equipment.
Machinery & Industrial Supplies came second at about 15%. Most requests here involved production and processing equipment for factories.
Agro & Agriculture took around 12% of the total. Buyers in this category were mainly sourcing farm inputs and equipment.
Together, these three sectors made up 45% of all demand. The remaining 55% spread across B2BMAP’s other product categories, with no single one approaching the top three.
What Is Behind the Numbers
Demand in Energy & Power covered two broad groups. The first was fuels: petroleum products, including EN590 diesel and jet fuel, drew steady buyer interest through the quarter. The second was hardware: power generation and transmission equipment, renewable components, and related supplies.
Ongoing spending on power plants and grid upgrades in many countries has pushed buyers to look for suppliers outside their usual regional channels, and much of that search now happens on open marketplaces.
The pattern fits the wider market. The International Energy Agency expects global energy investment to reach $3.4 trillion in 2026, up 5% from last year. Roughly 60% of that will go to electricity, covering grids, storage, and generation. Grid spending alone is set to grow nearly 20% this year, to around $550 billion.
The IEA also reports that energy security has become a central factor in investment decisions, with countries working to diversify both supply routes and energy sources. That capital eventually reaches procurement desks. When utilities and contractors buy more equipment, sourcing requests rise with them.
Requests for quotations from suppliers for machinery and industrial supplies grew alongside it. Many came from manufacturers adding or moving production capacity and buying the equipment to support it.
Agro & Agriculture demand held steady quarter over quarter. Buyers in this category are mostly securing farm inputs and equipment, and the volume has stayed consistent rather than moving with the seasons.
What Buyers Are Sourcing
Requests in these three categories ranged from diesel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products, to transmission equipment and industrial processing machinery, to fertilizer and farm tools. They came from both large industrial buyers and smaller firms, not from any single segment.
Buyers with a current need can post a buy requirement and receive responses from suppliers worldwide. Suppliers can follow new requirements as they come in through the buy leads, filtered by category.
Statement from B2BMAP
“Buyers are spreading their sourcing across more suppliers and more countries than they did a year ago. We saw that most clearly in energy and industrial categories this quarter, and we think the trend may carry into Q3.”
