UAE Ranks Number One Globally in Key Sectors Reinforcing Its Leadership in 2025
United Arab Emirates, 30th Jul 2025 – The United Arab Emirates has been ranked first globally in safety and continues to lead in competitiveness, tourism, digital innovation, and wealth attraction, according to international indices released in 2025.
In Numbeo’s Mid-Year Safety Index, the UAE secured the number one global ranking, with Abu Dhabi named the safest city in the world. In the IMD World Competitiveness Rankings, the UAE ranked 5th globally, surpassing the U.S. and Germany, and remained the Arab world’s most competitive economy for the ninth consecutive year.
The UAE’s economy grew by 3.4% in Q1 2024, with non-oil sectors rising 4%, and projections from the IMF expect 4.2% growth in 2025. Tourism is also surging, with expected spending reaching AED 228.5 billion this year. Additionally, the country welcomed 13,000 new millionaires in 2024, confirming its global appeal to high-net-worth individuals.
The UAE ranks 2nd globally for digital nomads and 4th in the IMD Smart City Index, with Dubai leading smart infrastructure development.
