Maritimo Recycling Appoints Advisory Board to Scale Ocean Plastic Solutions

Singapore, 20th Mar 2026 – Maritimo Recycling, a Croatian nonprofit organisation dedicated to cleaning the Adriatic Sea and transforming ocean plastic into durable products, has announced the appointment of its inaugural Advisory Board. Selected from the Veblen Director Programme, the five accomplished advisors bring expertise in healthcare governance, corporate finance, aviation strategy, operational transformation, and advanced manufacturing.

Their appointment marks a pivotal transition as Maritimo Recycling scales beyond experimentation to commercial production of its flagship product, Floaties—100% recycled, polarised sunglasses with a lifetime guarantee. The Advisory Board will provide strategic oversight as the organisation expands its impact across the Mediterranean while developing innovative recycling machines and sustainable product lines.

“Ocean plastic is not an environmental problem. It is a design failure of our civilisation. With this Advisory Board, Maritimo Recycling is done experimenting and ready to scale real solutions. Together, we are turning waste into great products with visible and measurable impact,” said Marjan Žitnik, Founder of Maritimo Recycling.
