United States, 3rd Dec 2025 – In an industry dominated by gear reviews filmed in perfect Western powder conditions, Board of the World is carving a new path by answering the question most Eastern-based riders actually have: “How does this board handle a sheet of ice?”

Founded by Steve Weber, a veteran of the Northeastern Pennsylvania slopes, Board of the World https://www.boardoftheworld.com/ has established itself as the premier destination for unbiased, snowboard and skateboard reviews written specifically for the East Coast riding experience.

The media platform was born from a frustration common among riders in the Northeast. Weber noticed that while there was an “endless sea” of gear information online, and none of it applied to the realities of East Coast terrain: icy slopes, hardpack snow, or weathered and cracked skateparks and sidewalks.
“My goal is to clearly and honestly explain how a skateboard or snowboard will feel when you stand on it, specifically from the perspective of an East Coast rider,” says Steve Weber, Founder of Board of the World. “We don’t get the best conditions out here. Our slopes are usually sheets of ice, and our skateparks are rough and weathered. I review boards for the conditions people actually face, not the dream scenarios they see from the influencers.”

The “Aging Average Rider’s” Advantage
Unlike publications that rely on professional athletes to test gear, Board of the World prides itself on being the voice of the “everyday aging rider.” Weber, a 42-year-old intermediate park rider with 27 years of snowboarding and 21 years of skateboarding experience, offers a more relatable perspective.
“I am by no means a pro rider, and I definitely don’t get to snowboard in the best conditions,” Weber adds. “But that is exactly why these reviews matter. I write for the older, average riders who just love to get out there, regardless of the conditions they get to ride in.”

Key Pillars of Board of the World:
The East Coast Perspective: Testing methodology focuses on performance on ice, hardpack, and imperfect terrain.
Zero Bias: The site remains completely independent with no brand allegiances, allowing for “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” in every review.

Board of the World is dedicated to helping riders spend less time shopping and more time shredding-even if it is mostly on ice.
