Hama Hama Oysters Named in RetailHub 2026 Mail-Order Oyster Ranking

United States, 16th Jun 2026 — Hama Hama Oysters, a sixth-generation family farm operating on Hood Canal in Washington state, has been included in RetailHub’s June 2026 ranked review of mail-order oyster sources across the continental United States.

RetailHub, an independent editorial platform publishing ranked reviews of consumer products and direct-to-consumer brands, evaluated five mail-order oyster sources across six weighted criteria: freshness and arrival condition, flavor and terroir distinctiveness, ordering flexibility and variety, price and value, packaging and cold chain performance, and customer experience. Hama Hama received an overall score of 4.9 out of 5.0 in the report.

The RetailHub report cited the farm’s intertidal, beach-grown cultivation method as a distinguishing factor, noting that the approach produces oysters with irregular shells and a flavor profile tied to the cold, clean water draining from the Olympic Peninsula into Hood Canal. The report also noted the farm’s overnight FedEx shipping infrastructure, frozen gel ice packaging rated for up to 72 hours, and buyer-selected delivery date options.

Hama Hama’s Farm Sampler, the primary product evaluated, ships three or nine dozen extra-small live oysters to continental US addresses. The farm also offers a standing monthly subscription and bulk ordering options.

“Being recognized for the work we put into getting these oysters from the beach to someone’s table in the best possible condition means a lot to us,” a Hama Hama spokesperson said. “We’ve been farming this stretch of Hood Canal for generations and the quality of this water shows up in every shell we ship.”
