The two primary authentication methods are username/password authentication and IP whitelist authentication, each suited for different use cases and applications.
Username and password authentication is the standard method compatible with most proxy-aware applications, browsers, and development frameworks. Users receive unique credentials through their SwiftProxy dashboard that can be configured in any application supporting proxy authentication. This method is ideal for manual configuration and applications where IP addresses may change.
IP whitelist authentication requires users to add their local IP addresses to their SwiftProxy account before accessing proxy services. Once whitelisted, users can access proxies without entering credentials in their applications, simplifying configuration for automated systems and API-based access. The whitelist must be updated if the user’s local IP address changes.
Both authentication methods support all SwiftProxy proxy types including residential proxies, mobile proxies, and static residential ISP proxies.
