Manatee Holdings Welcomes Jacky Han of NAIT and Pacific Rim Shellfish as Director, Strengthening Sustainable Aquaculture Leadership

Canada, 26th Jan 2026 – Manatee Holdings Ltd., a recognized pioneer in sustainable seafood and aquaculture, proudly announces the appointment of Jacky Han, representative of North America International Trading (NAIT) and Pacific Rim Shellfish (dba The Lobsterman), to its board of directors. This strategic addition not only strengthens Manatee Holdings’ leadership but also deepens its partnership with NAIT and The Lobsterman, enhancing the company’s ability to responsibly scale its environmentally beneficial seafood production and expand its market footprint.

Jacky Han brings robust industry expertise and a visionary strategic mindset, positioning him to play a pivotal role in rebranding Manatee Holdings beyond leadership in sustainable aquaculture towards becoming a trailblazer in the future of food. His deep industry insights and innovative approach will guide Manatee’s transformation to meet the evolving demands of consumers and stakeholders while shaping a resilient, responsible global food system.

“Jacky’s appointment marks a vital step in advancing Manatee Holdings’ vision,” said Jason Feng, General Manager of Manatee Holdings Ltd. “His expertise and NAIT’s collaboration reinforce our commitment to delivering sustainable seafood solutions that respect marine ecosystems and foster long-term value.”

Founder Eric Gant shared his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to welcome Jacky Han to Manatee Holdings’ board. Jacky’s visionary mindset and strategic expertise perfectly complement our mission to revolutionize sustainable aquaculture and lead the future of food. Together, we will accelerate innovation and create lasting impact for our oceans and communities.”

As part of Manatee Holdings’ commitment to transparency and measurable environmental responsibility, the company partnered with Blue Food Performance to conduct a rigorous Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its geoduck production. This independent LCA, performed according to ISO 14040/44 standards and detailed in the Blue Food Performance “Life Cycle Assessment of Geoduck Production” (August 2025), quantified Manatee’s environmental footprint with impressive findings: a carbon footprint of just 355 kg CO2eq per tonne of geoducks produced (accounting for 350g of sequestered carbon in shells), alongside low acidification and eutrophication potential compared to other farmed animal proteins.

The assessment highlighted energy use as the largest environmental impact driver, with opportunities identified to further reduce footprint through a transition to renewable energy sources and improved disposal practices that maximize carbon sequestration in geoduck shells.

“Manatee Holdings Ltd. is committed to embedding strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles throughout its operations,” added Jason Feng. “Guided by transparency and accountability, we continuously measure our impact on marine ecosystems and engage our communities to ensure sustainable seafood production that balances ecological health with economic viability. Jacky’s appointment further underscores our dedication to advancing these ESG principles as foundational to our growth and leadership.”

Manatee Holdings remains steadfast in its mission to produce premium, environmentally beneficial seafood products that align with global sustainability goals and meet the rising demand for responsible protein sources.
